SCITUATE FIELD TRIPS:
WALKING: Destination- Fairview Cemetery
Student brought their digital cameras and were asked to do outdoor photos considering lighting and composition. There was a certain amount of freedom to use their own voice and tell a story of choice while incorporating their knowledge thus far about the camera and photography. This will prepare them for the Scituate Field Trip. Check those photos out next week and see how they have improved.

Olympia Sacchitella B block "good use of leading lines and depth"
ReplyDeletein this photo there is a nice use of leading lines along the trees above the water. the lighting of the scene is very natural and is full of different colors such as red, yellow, green. also there is a lot of depth, as the water and is going and away as is gets smaller and smaller. the ground shows depth because of the leaves laying there and trees showing the different heights and shapes.

Great leading lines of the hall. Good depth in the frame. Creative positioning in the photo. The composition meets the expectations very well
Kenzie Joyce Glass: This photo has a nice use of lighting allowing for great reflection on the mirror. More over the faucet creates a leading line forcing the viewer to start at the left side and move to the center of the photo. Lastly the brown bottle creates a point of interest because of the contrast between that bottle and the clear bottle. This photo meets the expectations because of the reflection of the clear bottles on the mirror making it unclear what exactly each item is.
ReplyDeleteKenzie Joyce Multiples: This photo has a viewpoint of a worm's eye which allows the view to look up at the subjects in the photo. More over the doors of the set create a frame for some of the people. Because of the angle to photo is shot there is depth in the photo. The photo meets expectations because the people are interacting with each other well and the cropping done by Kenzie is flawless.

The color creates a good mood. Very well cropped. It focuses on the point of interest. The picture looks very cool because of the reflection and meets the assignments expectations.
Jack Taylor Field Trip: I thought this picture had a great amount of detail in it. The steeple helped create a leading line to the clouds. The background of the clouds helped create a great amount of detail to the photo and gave me a lot to look at. Overall, you met the expectations through using a series of different techniques like leading lines and background.
ReplyDeleteJack Taylor Glass: Couldn't find it
Jack Taylor Egg: Couldn't find it
Jack Taylor Multiples: Overall, I thought the creativity of the photo was very bold. The lighting was very good in the photo and gave the photo a brighter look. In addition, the background was detailed well but not too much to take away from the multiples on the photo. Overall, the expectations were met in the lesson through getting good multiples and using many different photo techniques along the way.
Tom Antos Field Trip: I liked how in Tom's picture how it doesn't show the face in the picture, and how its covered by leaves so it shows some what of a mystery by not showing the face. Also, I liked how it frames out the person in the bushes.
ReplyDeleteTom Antos Multiples: In Tom's multiples, I like how it isn't just a light color. It shows him and a black shadow and some light. Also, i liked the idea of him walking down the stairs. Overall, Tom did a good job editing the multiples.

WFT- Good use of background it doesn't distract from the subject. The depth of the photo also adds to the effect of the image. In addition the photo is very balanced and it works well.
Multiples- The use of depth in this photo really gives it perspective, this photo is deep. In addition you did a good job with the focus and none of the copies are blurry. Also It was cool how many multiples you put into the photo it really adds to the picture.
Egg- The texture of the fabric and cloth you used helped to add to your photo. In addition the lighting you used helped to cast a shadow on your egg and added to the photo. Finally I liked the color and contrast of the fabrics.
Glass- I liked how your glass photo has a lot of contrast and is very symmetrical. That being said it is a little out of focus. Finally the lighting and view adds to the effect of the photo.
WFT- Your photo went above the expectations being very well composed and well cropped.
DeleteMultiples- This photo went beyond expectations with many multiples but the background left some room for improvement.
Egg- This picture was very well composed and met expectations and even went beyond them with very good texture and color.
Glass- This photo met the expectations but could be improved as it was out of focus and a little blurry, however it was balanced.
Tom Gillan scituate field trip: I liked the photo's perspective and how it has the american flag in the background. It is also very patriotic and is focused well. The photo shows a lot of depth as well. In general the picture is well taken and really nice.
ReplyDeletemultiples: this picture is very life like and edited well. I really like how it is realistic and the people actually look like cloned tommy's. They show this by looking at eachother and reacting to there actions.

ReplyDeleteEgg
The egg is the point of interest in the shot. The background looks very mysterious. I like the angled lighting. The color of the egg meets the expectations.

ReplyDeleteKelsey Alves,
Field Trip: I really like your picture of the blue and green glass taken in the harbor. You have a really nice use of leading lines that make the picture. The light really reflects off the blue glass. The point of interest, the blue glass, really make the picture stand out. Although it is simple, it is its simplicity that makes it beautiful.
Glass: Kelsey, in this photograph the composition is astounding. I really like the bird's eye view you used to capture the essence of the glass. I also liked the diversity of the colors of the glass, that allowed room for an antique theme. Not only was the glass reflected by the mirror beneath, the light that struck the glass was refracted and added a finishing touch of perfection. Excellent job!
Egg: Amazing. I really like how in the scheme of all things dark, there is that smooth gleam of white. I really like how the center of focus was the egg, and how you captured the silky smooth texture of both the egg and the black cloth. The lighting couldn't of been better, because there are shadows and bright spots that compliment each other very well. Excellence is an understatement.
Multiples: I really like the use of the stoop for the background, because it is a relatable setting for a lot of conversing and socializing. You had just the right amount multiples, which is good so the picture does not seem so overcrowded. Engaging with one self in conversation is a great way to express your creativity. The exposure is great, and at first glance, one would actually think that there are multiple of you!

The reflection of the sun looks good. The thirds are well balanced. The figure is besides the subject. The moving bird shows the met expectations.
Sam Pender- Field Trip
ReplyDeleteNice use of leading lines along the grave stone helping you follow the picture. You focused on one object in the picture making the point of interest clear. Lighting was well used in the photo helping making the picture clear and easy to see. You met the expectations by using composition in the graveyard such as leading lines.
Glass- In the picture you used the mirrors well creating a good reflection. The lighting was well used creating a darker scene. THe point of interest wasn't one point of the picture and you used the space that you had well. You met the expectations of the assignment by creating a reflection with the mirror and the glass and using lighting to create a mood in the picture.
Egg- In the picture you used lighting to create a shadow on the egg making the picture more interesting. You used bird's eye view to create a more interesting scene with the egg and the paint. The point of interest was the egg even though there is grass in the background using the objects you were given. You met the expectations of the assignment by using good lighting and bird's eye view to create and interesting scene with the broken egg.
Field Trip- You used lighting to attract the flowers and the metal hidden inside the picture. The point of interest was the flowers, but led you to the metal hidden inside creating a more interesting scene that people may not have scene when they walked by. You used view point to create the focus mainly on that one scene instead of grass that may have been around a photo. You met the expectations of the assignment by creating an interesting scene using composition around Scituate.
Field Trip- Nice use of framing between the rocks to create a more interesting scene than just the ocean. You used lighting to create a more interesting scene as the rocks are darker helping you focus on the ocean that you can see through the rocks. The point of interest is the ocean which was created when you used framing to make the photo better. You met the expectations of the assignment by using composition around Scituate to create a scene that makes Scituate seem different.
Field Trip- Nice use of lighting in the scene to capture the Scituate and the objects of a sailor. You used Bird's eye view to create a more interesting scene intsead of just taking a picture. Your photo captured the life of Scituate using a different way than usually seen. You met the expectations of the assignment by using objects found around town an turn them into an interesting scene.

Field Trip- I really liked your picture from the walking field trip. The rock wall in the background was a good source of leading lines, and the flowers and trees added color. Also the reflection on the grave stone was a good focus point and brought attention to the photo. The expectations of making the most of the lighting and objects in the graveyard and outside was definitely met by this photo.
Glass- I loved this picture and the reflections and color in it. You did an awesome job of assembling your pieces to make the photo interesting. The reflection from the colored glass really provided a point of interesting and the lighting was great as well. The expectations of this assignment was to capture the reflections and textures of the glass and your photo did this perfectly.
Multiples- The space you chose to do your multiples was very good, it provided lots of space for a variety of different poses. The stairs gave the picture a version of leading lines, and also provided level change and shadowing. In some poses you are in the light and in others you are in the shadows. Expectations were definitely met by your use of the space and your ability to provide many different poses and focus points.
Hannah Stone G:
ReplyDeleteGlass: The viewpoint of the picture is creative and makes the photo unique. It also gives the picture a lot of depth and makes it interesting. Nice use of reflection and point of interest. This meets the expectations because it has a lot of composition and uses glass and reflections to create the photo.
Egg: I like the different textures and the exposure of the photo. The angle of the lighting creates shadows and highlights which makes the picture interesting. I also like the viewpoint of the photo from above and how one side is light and one is dark. You met the expectations of the assignment because you used creative backgrounds and composition to make a photo of an egg interesting.
Multiple: I like how you made some of your people interacting with each other and doing different things. Each person is doing something different which makes it look like there is really a bunch of people there. Nice approach to the photograph and nice framing using the sides of the bleachers. This meets the assignment expectations because there is enough people in it and they all have different actions.

ReplyDeleteCole Stiles. I highly enjoy the photo of the flower because its natural lighting gives it its natural look. The background makes the flower come out even more which is unique. Good balance tot he photo its balanced correctly and looks even. you approached the field trip assignment very well and i though you executed positively.

ReplyDeleteMultiple Photo -The location choice for the background was well chosen because it didn't create any distractions. You did a nice job focusing on the pictures of you as well as cropping them to look like the scene was actually happening. The amount of multiples you put into the picture added a lot to the story and created a story for the viewers. The lightening of the photo was also very good because there were shadows and the photo was bright enough. Overall all expectations were met.
Egg - The picture of the egg was really well shot. The leading lines from the red textured cloth lead you to the egg and gives the photo interest. The focus of the egg also adds to the picture since the cloth in the left hand of the image is not focused. You choose a really great background because it makes your egg look like its shinning bright as well as how the lights reflects and creates shadows within the picture. Overall picture met all the criteria.
Glass- The cropping of this picture makes the texture of the glass look 3D. Nice use of reflection. The red adds a lot to the photo because the lighting creates many shades of red. All criteria was reached with this image. Nice Job!
Field Trip- The photos from this field trip came out great and met all criteria. My favorite is the one of the water because the suns reflection creates great light in the photo. I also liked the picture of the red and yellow leaves in the pavement. The focus on the leaves made for a unique photo and the lighting was very natural looking.
-Taylor McCormack (Block B)
Noah Pillsbury: G Block
ReplyDelete-Good use of cropping and reflection in your glass photo, but for the future make sure it is focused on the subject.
-I liked the use of worm's eye view on your second field trip photo. it was an interesting view of the landscape and showed a lot of texture on the wood
-The use of lighting in your eerie photo demonstrates the "eerie" mood you were probably going for
-There was a good use of depth in your multiple. Placing yourself evenly throughout the background helps a viewer focus on you rather than empty space
-Your egg has an awesome use of lighting; gives the photo a good mood. I like the textured fabric around the egg also.
-For your walking field trip, the lighting was a little harsh and unfocused on the background but I liked the yellow flowers.

Field Trip- I liked how the viewpoint of this picture was taken below the object (worm's eye). The lighting in this picture is very good as the natural light from the sun shines through the branches of the tree. Because the tree is symmetrical, a nice balance is portrayed in the picture. You met the expectations of the assignment very well through the use of lighting, viewpoint, and balance.
Glass- In this picture, you again used a nice form of symmetry and balance as the glasses reflect against the mirror. The lighting is very good in this picture because it if placed behind the glass and reflects through. I also like how the marble is placed directly in the middle of the two glasses. You met the expectations of the assignment very well through lighting, focus, and balance.
Egg- The lighting in this picture is placed very well because it shines directly on the egg showing how white the color of it is up against the background. This shows the focus of the picture well also. The background used is a nice contrast in color with the egg. Good job! You met the expectations well through the use of lighting, focus, and background.
