ASSIGNMENT C

STILL LIFE:

Using inanimate objects in a controlled setting allows us to investigate that object(s) in various ways and explore composition.

UNITS 1, 2 UBD

Artist Habits of Mind: While AHMs are ever-present in creation of image making , these particular ones will be most developed in this lesson: Envision, Develop Craft, Understand Art World, Stretch and Explore, Observe, Engage and Parsist

PROCEDURE MINI RECAP:

Set your still life up with a partner in the boxes provided. Create a background from clothes or other item of choice.

Set your object(s) within the box but do not allow it to go outside of the box for now.

Set up your lighting for first few shots but remember you will try above, below, sides, behind, diffused , filtered and pattern templates. Your partner may hold the light for you.

With each shot you will also explore COMPOSITION- to include vantage points, backgrounds, lighting, rule of thirds, leading lines, framing and depth of field. Minimum 20 photos uploaded

Artfiles Folder: STILL LIFE . In Still Life Folder : BEST 3 - each labeled with your name, adjusted in PS and saved as a JPEG

ASSIGNMENT B

ANDY WARHOL POP ART

This assignment will help you further understand how to use your digital camera. More importantly, you will be using many functions in PS and start incorporating creativity while looking at major works of an icon from the 60's.

Unit UBD 1

Artist Habits of Mind: While AHMs are ever-present in creation of image making , these particular ones will be most developed in this lesson: Envision, Develop Craft, Understand Art World, Stretch and Explore, Reflect

PROCEDURE MINI RECAP:

Using your partner or a timer, you are to get a picture of you from your digital camera only. Follow the processes in place to place this in Artfiles after doing adjustments in PS. Be sure to follow the directions for the correct size. Using rotation, transform, filters, adjustments, hue and saturation and opacity,a unique POP Art of you will be created using a minimum of 4 variations of the same image. Print on EPSON printer only- using computer by my desk.

ASSIGNMENT A

NAME:

As your first assignment you will be both telling a story ( about you) and learning to look. At the same time you will start to understand the BASICS of how our Canon Powershots operate.

UNIT 1 UBD

Artist Habits of Mind: While AHMs are ever-present in creation of image making , these particular ones will be most developed in this lesson: Envision, Develop Craft, Stretch and Explore, Observe, Engage and Persist.

PROCEDURE MINI RECAP:

* Use all classroom and camera routines. Look in your folders to refresh.

*Weather permitting, go outside and photograph the letters of your first name. Remember to take a minimum of 3 for each letter and no pre-existing letters.

* Upload to Artfiles as NAME, select the best letter for spelling out your name, resize in PS and create entire name in PS. Do adjustments in PS. Save as JPEG and save to YOUR Artfiles. Print to 149 Color 2.
